We’ve got a class for you.
... either a Hot26-style or a Vinyasa-style class
No matter your experience, we have the perfect class for you. If you are new to yoga, please read our class descriptions carefully. We’ve designed our schedule so that our most popular class times are accessible to both newbies and veterans. Reach out if you have questions. We love to help!
* Please note: Our Hot 26 Beats classes are led by a teacher in a “follow the leader” format, which we do not recommend for first-time students, as the core principles are not instructed.
**In our humble opinion, we think the best starter classes are our signature Hot 26 Instructed Yoga Class and any Vinyasa Yoga Class
Why is the room hot?
Practicing yoga in a heated room stimulates the lymphatic system, which is responsible for flushing out the body’s toxins. Your capillaries will dilate in the heat – oxygenating the tissues, muscles, glands, and organs – and helping in the removal of waste products.
The heat helps to loosen your muscles, making them more pliable for a deeper stretch sooner into the practice. It also helps to prevent injuries.
The heat serves many purposes. It increases the heart rate, which is a catalyst for a more intense calorie burn. Metabolism levels increase with a consistent practice, speeding up the breakdown of glucose and fatty acids. This helps to tone your body and lose weight.
What do I bring to class?
A yoga mat if you have one. We rent and sell mats.
Two bath size towels or a big beach towel is essential to prevent slipping while sweating. We also sell slip resistant Yogitoes as well.
Bring plenty of water to drink. We also have a refill station available.
*Make sure you are hydrated. Drink plenty of water the day of class. Cold bottled water and coconut water are available for purchase. We recommend eating only a light meal at least three hours prior to class.
I’ve never been to your studio.
Welcome! We are so excited for you to become a member of our vibrant community.
If you don’t register for class online or through the Hot Yoga Louisville app, please arrive 15 minutes early to complete a waiver form and check in with our knowledgeable front desk staff. Keep in mind that you will always sign in at the front desk.
Shoes are not allowed inside the lobby or practice space. Please leave them in the hallway.
Cell phones are not allowed in the practice space. Please silence your phone and leave it with your personal belongings in the student cubbies.
You are more than welcome to give our studio phone number ( 502-899-9966 ) to your loved ones – we have someone at our front desk during all class times.
Am I in good hands?
All of our Hot 26 Instructed (aka Bikram) yoga teachers have been trained in the original Bikram training or through a similar Hot 26 training. Our Vinyasa teachers have completed a minimum 200-hour training program. We pride ourselves on offering classes with teachers who, we know, are the best in the city!
What if I’m not flexible?!
Great! This is the most common misconception that prevents people from coming to a yoga class. Yoga is not about how flexible you are! It is about stretching your body and spine on a regular basis, which will cause your body to function at its optimal level. Aches and pain, stiffness and puffiness will be drastically reduced by a regular practice. Flexibility will automatically become part of your physical well-being!
Class Etiquette
Arrive on time.
Refrain from talking during class.
NO cell phones are allowed in the practice space.
Students must wear appropriate Yoga clothing (no underwear, bathing suits, speedos or thongs).
For many new students, the most trying part of a Hot 26 (aka Bikram) class is the heat. On your first couple visits, your primary goal is just to stay in the room. You can do so by simply lying on your mat, facing the back of the room and focusing on your breath.
It is always YOUR practice, not the teacher’s practice or the practice of anyone else around you. Focus on what feels good for your body. Our classes are designed to push you beyond your comfort zone, but you should not feel pain. We encourage you to compare yourself vertically by gauging your own personal progress over time, and not comparing yourself horizontally to those around you. All of our bodies are different, and we are all in a different place.
